A rethink?

META 09終於出版，值得支持，因為它是本好雜誌。雜誌有自我介紹，寫得很好，除了最後一句，值得玩味。

"We intend to provide diversified perspectives from both theoretical and practical levels for young citizens to rethink both local and global issues."

首先，似乎不能說from一個或幾個levels，而只能說on或at一個或幾個levels.

其次，我們留意一下rethink這個動詞，經常有誤用情況。查查字典，rethink有兩種用法：

If you rethink something such as a problem, a plan, or a policy, you think about it again and change it.

If you have a rethink of a problem, a plan, or a policy, you think about it again and change it.

哦，原來rethink不是解作「再思考」，而是解「I have a second thought」，即係「諗諗下，都係改做咁好Ｄ」。

所以或是改用re-evaluate，或是踏實一點說，to explore both local and global issues.

"We intend to provide certain perspectives, both theoretically and practically diversified, for the youth to explore both local and global issues fruitfully."
